The Government of India organised the Khelo India games from 24th April to 3rd May at five venues in Bangalore at Sports Authority of India Kengeri, Jain Global University Campus, Jain Sports School, Field Marshall Kariappa Hockey Stadium and Kanteerva Stadium.
As part of the Artmantram team and chair for Art and Life vertical, I worked as Art Coordinator for this project. Since the pandemic the artists were affected with sales, and this project helped them to get some income for their artworks. We worked with artists to do live painting at the opening ceremony as well as cover all the 20 disciplines being played. These 22 original canvases done by artists were gifted to the dignitaries at the closing ceremony on 3rd May 2022. It was a great opportunity for our artists and pride for Mantram for being involved at this prestigious event, special thank you to Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, IAS Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka.
