I'm incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to contribute to the exceptional "Rising Beyond" event at Sublime Galleria. This extraordinary three-day showcase, orchestrated by a group of talented and visionary women, featured a collection of 64 captivating artworks. The display highlighted the creative prowess of 36 remarkable individuals from FICCI Flo, a testament to their artistic ingenuity.
As a proud member of the Art & Culture Vertical and part of the organizing committee, it was an immensely gratifying endeavor to curate this remarkable exhibition for FICCI Flo Bangalore. The process of bringing together this diverse array of artistic expressions was a deeply fulfilling experience, and I am honored to have played a role in such a meaningful and impactful event. A special thank you to Chairperson, Mehak Mehra, and Uzma Irfan, Founder- Sublime Galleria and team. Our Art for Charity event at Sublime Galleria was on 28th, 29th & 30th July 2023.
Our goal wasn't just to organize an art show for Flo members; we aimed to make a positive social impact. A portion of the proceeds from the show supported Stree Jagruti Samiti, led by Ms. Geeta Menon, dedicated to helping women and female workers facing domestic violence, sexual harassment, and forced labor issues.
We provided ration kits to women in need, who often struggle for their basic necessities and dignity. During our time with them, we shared in song, dance, and their stories. Some stories inspired us with their strength, while others moved us to tears, reinforcing our commitment to making a difference in their lives and promoting empathy in our society.
During our second day, I had the privilege to moderate the event alongside India’s Renowned Artist, G Subramanian. A recipient of 12 prestigious national and international art awards, he articulates from his soul, generously engaging with fellow artists and enthusiasts. His artistry is enchanting, crafting captivating collages on canvas through paper, seamlessly fusing traditional acrylics with contemporary collage techniques. Subramanian's work is a masterful reimagining of a wide spectrum of Indian mythological figures.
