The Wandering Souls

Very grateful for being a part of an amazing 3-day show “Wandering Souls,” at Gallery G by wonderful creative women, featuring 50 artworks from the Ficci Flo family which was put together by our Art & Culture Vertical. As a core committee member, I had the privilege of contributing to the curation of the show. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Chairperson of FICCI Flo, Bengaluru Chapter, Jayshree Menon, and the Founder/Managing Director of Gallery G, Gitanjali Maini, for their tireless efforts in making this exhibition a success. It was an honor to be a part of this event and to witness the talent and creativity on display.

The art show was not only intended to showcase the works of our Flo members but also to give back to society. Part of the proceeds from the sales of this show went to towards providing 640 menstrual hygiene kits to underprivileged girls in Government in Government Children’s Home, Nimhans campus, facilitated by Dr Kalpana, Magistrate Juvenile court, who said, "Once a month for this entire year the girls at the centre are going to thank us for this..." This home looks after girl children in need of care and protection due to circumstances like being homeless, becoming orphaned, being physically or sexually abused, being trafficked, rescued from commercial sex work, begging, child labour and other forms of exploitation.

I am thrilled that both my paintings, which were close to my heart, were sold, and I am glad that they will bring joy and prosperity to the homes of the people who bought them. It was a great pleasure to have my parents visit me and witness the success of this show.
